Posted by: The Potentate at December 21, 2005 02:48 AMpretty sure you had a blast. according to one member of the party, i wasn't as "subdued" as i normally am. blah blah blah. yackity-schmackity. memories linger even after years of therapy.

Posted by: miss havana at December 22, 2005 01:14 PMjoy...her name is actually hallie and she is the best! i will repremand her severely for taking your name in vain tho. bad hal bad hal!
miss havana...that is interesting. just from your short comments on my blog it seems as if you two would get along! =)
Posted by: hill at December 22, 2005 02:11 PMactually, we don't get along. we fight like water buffalos! :D
Posted by: miss havana at December 22, 2005 11:56 PMsorry... i'm confused. i see "joy" and yet i've taken her name in vain? is she claiming to be "rory?" i'm rory. except that i ditched princeton for art college... and i don't have 5 gorgeous boys clamouring for my affection... but if i have offended by stealing your alter-ego, i apologize. but can we share? maybe?
(you know you've costed me a hill reprimanding. the least you could do would be to share.) ;>)
now i'm confused.
if you're addressing some girl named joy who is plagued with the attention of 5 gorgeous clamoring boys, i can't be the joy you're addressing. (though i'm sure i'd like to meet her and get some tips.)
i'm just the joy whose name you took in vain when you said "happy happy joy joy" -- but don't fret. everyone does it. you're not the first.
sometimes people really profane it -- like when something bad happens and they sarcastically say "oh JOY" and roll their eyes as though to add "oh yeah, that's just fabu-loso; why don't i go top it off with a feast of worms."
at least you used it in a positive context. and for a noble cause -- hill'ry.
Posted by: joy at December 23, 2005 01:21 PMwhoops!
it's a retro nickelodeon reference... "joy" just has so many excellent contexts.
my fave being matthew 2:10... "when they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceedingly great JOY."
sorry about the mix-up, but merry CHRISTmas to all, including you, joy-joy!
=O)
