Mandy (my fiancée) and I got our engagement pictures back from the developer this weekend. I think we've managed to narrow our choices down to 4. Let me know which one you like best. Yes ... we were chaperoned. :)
Posted by Gabriel at April 26, 2004 08:37 AMum. i like 3. :)
Posted by: joy at April 26, 2004 06:07 PMeither 3 or 4...i can't decide. =)
Posted by: hill at April 26, 2004 08:29 PMi stand unmoved with 2
Posted by: gwen at April 26, 2004 08:53 PMi think 1 is a great picture. but i suppose i'll throw my lot in with gwen and agree on 2. i like the darker shade and the closeness, and it seems a bit more personal than the...traditional-looking 3.
Posted by: david at April 26, 2004 09:32 PMso now you have a nice vote. we all decided on different ones. fat lot of good that did you! amen? amen.
Posted by: hill at April 26, 2004 10:16 PMhmm. "traditional-looking" never crossed my mind with 3, but i think i still have some solid, reasonable reasons why it's my favorite. it hasn't changed though. it's been a good 3+3 hours since i posted my pick, and i've not wavered yet.
gabe, when it comes down to it -- you and mandy are going to have to choose (#3, which is) what you and mandy like best -- ok, and there may need to be some degree of concession for appeasing parental counterparts, but most others don't count much. it's all about your preferences. which of these can you not live without? (probably #3, right?) which of these do you want your kids to remember you by (whether or not they look back from the future to snicker at your 3-decade-old hairstyles)?
all that to say
this: that
frankly, it's your choice.
(so choose #3.)
:)
<dazed-zombie-voice>must...choose...3</dazed-zombie-voice>
Posted by: gabe at April 27, 2004 08:07 AMDo I get a vote? I like #1....can I get that one for my wall?
Posted by: MomE at April 27, 2004 01:52 PMslick, joy. very slick. pull out the ol' american individualist appeal to self with a bit of web hypnosis thrown in. for shame.
gabe, despite joy's excellent propaganda, consider how many other couples all across america have a picture just like #3. (only with their smiling faces, not yours and Mandy's)
now, #2 has some unique character. it fits you both. it would be novel in the newspaper next to all the other engagement pictures that look just like #3. (even though it's remarkably nice too)
and notice how hill conveniently overlooks the fact that, between Gwen and me, a clear and decisive advantage has been given to #2.
vote for forward thinking. vote #2.
Posted by: david at April 27, 2004 02:31 PMYour aunt and all her friends at work vote for Picture #3!!!!!
Posted by: Aunt Sandy at April 27, 2004 02:37 PMyou JERK!!! How do you rate getting all the relatives and MOM to post on your blog!!! huh? huh?
Posted by: gwen at April 27, 2004 04:47 PMHmm...probably because my fiancee's cute. Or maybe I am? :P
Posted by: gabe at April 27, 2004 04:53 PMwell david, it looks as though we've won.
Overall, I think I'm drawn to #2 the most. I like the composition...seems a little more dynamic than #3.
#3 does have more natural toning, which pulls it pretty close in the standings.
Posted by: JRC at April 27, 2004 10:56 PMstrike up the post-race partay! allright! :-)
(john is using words i don't know the meaning of. i think it's like he knows what he's saying.)
hope you're happy with all your selections, gabe. they're great pics.
Posted by: david at April 28, 2004 09:23 AMThanks dave! Frankly, I haven't a clue what "natural toning" is either. :) Guess I'll have to brush up on my photography lingo.
As my sister has already said, we're going to use pic #2 as our guestbook picture. I think it'll be pretty neat.
Posted by: gabe at April 28, 2004 10:06 AMi give, i give! as long as you had a chap for #2 i will agree with it...since this has been what you were waiting for...
Posted by: hill at April 28, 2004 10:47 AMI'm for #3. It took me a while to decide. But I am happy with my choice. :) You should be too...
Posted by: jbo at April 28, 2004 03:10 PMOK. I just meant the colors looked a little more natural in #3...you probably had a little more sunlight than #2, which I assume was shot in shade.
Don't worry about my lingo...I had to look up "Charybdis" recently... :-)
Good choice, BTW.
