"If we open a quarrel between past and present, we shall find that we have lost the future." - Winston Churchill
"Whether for correction or for his land
or for love, he causes it to happen." - Job 37:13
Job 28:12
“But where shall wisdom be found?
And where is the place of understanding?"
Job 28:23
“God understands the way to it,
and he knows its place."
Job 28:28
"And he said to man,
‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom,
and to turn away from evil is understanding.’”
"For I know that my Redeemer lives,
and at the last he will stand upon the earth."
Job 19:25
Though I feel distant from God, there will be a judgement day when I will stand in my flesh before God. My Redeemer lives. He will have to buy me back, because I cannot stand the wrath or avoid it on my own.
Jesus Christ save me from the wrath to come.
"Would that there were an arbiter between us,
who might lay his hand on us both." - Job 9:33 (ESV)
Maybe someone can help me understand this quote from "The Disciplined Life" by Richard S. Taylor:
"Bu the Corinthians, though truly converted, were still eak; they were far from the strength of mature, disciplined character. In fact they did not posses even the minimal foundation of entire sanctification."
Entire sanctification? Is sanctification ever complete on this earth? Can it really be attained? If it can, is it minimal? Maybe he's using the term differently...
If any one can help clarify this, I'd be grateful.
Lord, we need you.
Right now.
The dreams,
those little paper cranes,
are being singed
and some
burned
by the agressive fears of
others.
Lord,
don't let us sleep.
Don't let us deny you.
"In all labor there is profit,
But mere talk leads only to poverty." - Proverbs 14:23
"And Asa cried to the Lord his God, “O Lord, there is none like you to help, between the mighty and the weak. Help us, O Lord our God, for we rely on you, and in your name we have come against this multitude. O Lord, you are our God; let not man prevail against you." - II Chronicles 14:11
