Another oddly named web designer/developer tutorial site: Tizag Tutorials.

This one sports some PHP tutorials.

Frederick Webmail

Is there anyone out there who might have an old copy of the Frederick Webmail system by Richard Heyes?

It's an old BSD licensed webmail application that I was hoping to puruse for its possible inclusion in dotProject.

If you have info, please comment below.

Cheers.

Art in the Park 2005

Art in the Park wrapped up yesterday. Steph and I were there on Sunday to help out my Dad who had a booth across from Spill the Beans.

I'll try to give more advanced notice on events like these for those in the area. If you missed the show or you're interested in sculpting classes, you can check out his website at DougYoungStudios.com.

Ah, my famous father...

My Dad, Doug Young, was featured this week in the Greenville News. If you missed grabbing a copy, you can still read the article online: Young tries to capture the moment. There some history in the article in case your curious about how Mr. Young got his start.

Enjoy.

Mozilla Thunderbird 1.5 Beta 1 Release Notes

* Automated update to streamline product upgrades. Notification of an update is more prominent, and updates to Thunderbird may now be half a megabyte or smaller. Updating extensions has also improved.

Firefox 1.5 Beta 1 (Deer Park)

So far so good. I installed Firefox 1.5 Beta 1 -- code named Deer Park -- and it was a smooth experience. Granted a good 4/5th's of my extensions didn't load, but that's to be expected.

The newest and best feature of this next version is the SVG support. Haven't played with it extensively, but what I've seen is promising.

NOTE: This is a beta release of Firefox. Which means it's not quite finished, but it's getting there. So, if you're not a web developer, I wouldn't upgrade just yet. Your welcome to if you don't mind bugs, but it's probably best to wait. Just an FYI.

iPod Nano - insanely small

Ok, if it were April 1st, I wouldn't believe this: iPod nano, but it's not April or even the 1st of the month.

If a company can make an MP3 player that small, what's to prevent 1lb laptops that do everything (or most) of what I want on a daily basis?

This tiny thing sports a color screen, 2-4GB of space (that's a huge "thumb drive"), and only ways 1.5 ounces. What else ways 1.5 ounces? I certainly haul around books heavier than that.

k, Apple. When's the Newton coming back? Tomorrow? Can I preorder? Please?
