center

Truthfully, though the craft could be drawn on metaphorically in so many ways, pottery allusions usually aggrivate me. Because there isn't a perfect metaphor for God since you can see Him in everything, whether in opposition or favor....but

Take centering, though.

The Lord is the Master Potter, correct? We are his lump of clay that He's working with.

What is the first step to centering, the wedging process. The imperfections our taken out, the clay body is refined. The Lord removes our infirmities, continues to refine our lives.

The second step, and here's where I stop. The consistency of pressure. The centering hand of the potter has no play. In a way the clay seems to center itself against the pressure. But what is happening, think of the large scope.

The Lord has chosen us out of the ground, HE has put us on His wheel, HE has removed our infirmities, HE has begun to perfect our lives through His character, no matter how much our tendency is to think that, we've conformed to His character by our own merit. All steps lead back to His choice.

Lined up against His consistent Truth, we are perfected every day.
