We've been studying through Luke 11 on 'Hypocrisy - Seeing Ourselves in the Pharisees.' (www.nhccfamily.org)
We've learned the following amazing song!
A thousand times I've failed
Still Your mercy remains
And should I stumble again
I'm caught in Your grace
Everlasting - Your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending - Your glory goes beyond all fame
Your will above all else
My purpose remains
The art of losing myself
In bringing You praise
Everlasting - Your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending - Your glory goes beyond all fame
In my heart and my soul
Lord I give You control
Consume me from the inside out
Lord let justice and praise
Become my embrace
To love you from the inside out
Everlasting - Your light will shine when all else fades
Never ending - Your glory goes beyond all fame
And the cry of my heart
Is to bring You praise
From the inside out
Lord my soul cries out
Hillsong - United We Stand (2006)
Embracing Accusation
The father of lies coming to steal, kill, and destory
All my hopes of being good enough.
I hear him saying, "cursed are the ones who can't abide."
He's right. Halleluiah, he's right.
The devil is preaching the song of the redeemed.
That I am cursed and gone astray.
I cannot gain salvation, embracing accusation.
Could the father of lies be telling the truth of God to me tonight?
If the penalty of sin is death, then death is mine.
I hear him saying, "cursed are the ones who can't abide."
He's right. Halleluiah, he's right.
The devil is preaching the song of the redeemed.
That I am cursed and gone astray.
I cannot gain salvation.
Oh the devil is singing over me an age-old song...
That I am cursed and gone astray.
Singing the first verse so conveniently, he's forgotten the refrain.
Jesus Saves. He redeemed us from the curse of sin.
Shane and Shane - Pages
I had the great priviledge to go to my church's middle school camp as a sponsor. We went to Woodlands camp for a week - http://www.woodlandscamp.org/
I had a blast!! One of the best things was that there were approx. 7 middle schoolers that came to know Christ as their Lord and Saviour.
We sang the following song in chapel and it was the music to the video of highlights of the week. I love it and I can't stop listening to the words. He truly is MIGHTY TO SAVE!!
Everyone needs compassion
A love that's never failing
Let mercy fall on me
Everyone needs forgiveness
A kindness of a Savior
The hope of nations
My Savior
He can move the mountains
My God is Mighty to save
He is Mighty to save
Forever
Author of salvation
He rose and conquered the grave
Jesus conquered the grave
So take me as You find me
All my fears and failures
Fill my life again
I give my life to follow
Everything i believe in
Now i surrender
Shine your light and let the whole world see
We're singing for the glory of the risen King...Jesus
Might to Save - Hillsong
Jesus You are mercy, Jesus You are justice
Jesus You are worthy, that is what You are
You died alone to save me, Your rose so You could raise me
You did this all to make me a chosen child of God
(How) Worthy is the Lamb that once was slain
To receive all glory power and praise
For with Your blood You purchased us for God
Jesus You are worthy, that is what You are
Perfect sacrifice crushed by God for us
Bearing in Your hurt all that i deserve
Misjudged for my misdeeds You suffered silently
The only guiltless man in all of history
Brenton Brown/Don Williams - "Everlasting God"
Growin’ up I overheard all the grown ups sayin’
You better be prayin’ and sayin’
All the right little things at the right little times
And I had it down... at least on the outside
I’d put my best side forward I could smile with the best
And dress like the rest of the messed up church folk singin’ a song
Are you sitting down with all your sin and shame all stored up
Are you ready to live for what the law could not do
God did
Could it be that morality got the best of you and me
Got us thinking that we’re on the brink
Of a drink of the cup that’s all filled up
With the cross havin’ even a little to do with us
It was His day and it was His way
To the glory of His grace
Took our disease enough to please
The Father of lights to bruise Jesus
Maybe do’s and don’ts were made to show
How much we do and don’t ever make it
God Did - Shane and Shane - Clean
“Lord, help us to understand the depth of Your ever sovereign sacrifice in Jesus. That what the Law could not do, weak as it was through the flesh, God did: sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, He condemned sin in the flesh…” (Rom 8:3)
I have not much to offer You
Not near what You deserve
But still I come because Your cross
Has placed in me my worth
Oh, Christ my King of sympathy
Whose wounds secure my peace
Your grace extends to call me friend
Your mercy sets me free
And I know I'm weak
I know I'm unworthy to call upon Your name
But because of grace
Because of Your mercy I stand here unashamed
I can't explain this kind of love
I'm humbled and amazed that You'd come down
From heavens heights and greet me face to face
And I know I'm weak
I know I'm unworthy to call upon Your name
But because of grace
Because of Your mercy I stand here unashamed
Here I am at Your feet
In my brokeness complete
"Unashamed" by Starfield - Beauty In The Broken
Son of God shaper of the stars
You alone the dweller of my heart
Mighty King how beautiful You are,
How beautiful
Son of God the Father's gift to us
You alone were broken on the altar of love
Precious Lamb our freedom's in Your blood
It's in your blood
Jesus, Oh Holy One
I sing to You
Forgiven
Savior, I'm overcome
With Your great love for me
Son of God strength beyond compare
You alone the darkness cannot bear
Lord of love your kindness draws me near,
It draws me
Son of God prophecy of old
You alone redeemer of my soul
Come again and lead your people home,
Come lead us home
You are worthy, You are worthy,
You are worthy of all my praise
You are beautiful, You are beautiful,
I will lift up my hands and sing
Son of God - Starfield
I've always known the fact that, as a believer, God sees me as perfect and righteous because of Jesus. I know this. I do, but I also struggle completely grasping the concept... I am a sinner, broken, lost, and undeserving. I fail all the time, yet God sees me perfect? Yes, He does.
I was listening to the following song tonight, and it helped hearing this words: "even in my weakness, the Saviour calls my name, in His Holy presence I'm healed and unashamed."
Wounded and forsaken
I was shattered by the fall
Broken and forgotten
Feeling lost and all alone
Summoned by the King
Into the Master’s courts
Lifted by the Savior
And cradled in His arms
I was carried to the table
Seated where I don’t belong
Carried to the table
Swept away by His love
And I don’t see my brokenness anymore
When I’m seated at the table of the Lord
I’m carried to the table
The table of the Lord
Fighting thoughts of fear
And wondering why He called my name
Am I good enough to share this cup
This world has left me lame
Even in my weakness
The Savior called my name
In His Holy presence
I’m healed and unashamed
You carried me, my God
You carried me
"Carried to the Table" by Leeland - Sound of Melodies
This is one of the songs that we learned at the WorshipGOD06 conference. We've been singing it just about ever Sunday since, because it ties in perfectly with our study of the Sermon on the Mount.
O great God of highest heaven
Occupy my lowly heart
Own it all and reign supreme
Conquer every rebel power
Let no vice or sin remain
That resists Your holy war
You have loved and purchased me
Make me Yours forevermore
I was blinded by my sin
Had no ears to hear Your voice
Did not know Your love within
Had no taste for heaven’s joys
Then Your Spirit gave me life
Opened up Your Word to me
Through the gospel of Your Son
Gave me endless hope and peace
Help me now to live a life
That’s dependent on Your grace
Keep my heart and guard my soul
From the evils that I face
You are worthy to be praised
With my every thought and deed
O great God of highest heaven
Glorify Your Name through me
Bob Kauflin © 2006 Sovereign Grace - Valley of Vision
We bow our hearts, we bend our knees
Oh spirit, come make us humble
We turn our eyes from evil things
Oh Lord, we cast down our idols
So give us clean hands, and give us pure hearts
Let us not lift our souls to another
And give us clean hands, and give us pure hearts
Let us not lift our souls to another
O God, let us be a generation that seeks
That seeks your face O God of Jacob
O God, let us be a generation that seeks
Who seeks your face O God of Jacob
Written by Charlie Hall
I am not skilled to understand
What God has willed, what God has planned
I only know at His right hand
Stands one who is my Savior.
I take Him at His word and deed
Christ died to save me: this I read
And in my heart I find a need
Of Him to be my Savior.
That He would leave His place on high
And come for sinful man to die
You count it strange, so once did I
Before I knew my Savior.
My Savior Loves, my Savior lives
My Savior's always there for me
My God: He was, my God: He is
My God is always gonna be.
Yes, living, dying: let me bring
My strength, my solace from this spring:
That He who lives to be my king
Once died to be my Savior.
Aaron Shust - anything worth saying
This is one of my favorite songs. Appropriate for this time of year.
I used to listen to it all the time, over and over again...
It also was one of Charles' favorites. After being used in his memorial service, I can't help but think of Charles every time I hear it. The best part is that I'll be spending time with Charles again because I know my Redeemer lives. The song still makes me choke up a little bit.
Redeemer
Who taught the sun where to stand in the morning
Who told the ocean you an only come this far?
Who showed the moon where to hide 'til evening
Whose words alone can catch a falling star?
Well I know my Redeemer lives
I know my Redeemer lives
All of creation testify
This life within me cries
I know my Redeemer lives
The very same God that spins things in orbit
He runs to the weary, the worn and the weak
And the same gentle hands that hold me when I'm broken
They conquered death to bring me victory
Now I know my Redeemer lives
I know my Redemer lives
Let all creation testify
Let this life wihtin me cry
I know my Redeemer, He lives
To take away my shame
And He lives forever I'll proclaim
That the payment for my sin
Was the precious life He gave
But now He's alive
And there's a new day

What can we say to describe just a glimpse of Your glory
How can our words portray but a thread of your majesty
But still we praise our Savior
In Spirit and in Truth
For we cannot say enough about You

Mercy Me - Almost There
I don't know how to say exactly how I feel
And I can't begin to tell you what your love has meant
I'm lost for words
Is there a way to show the passion in my heart
Can I express how truly great I think you are
You're my dearest friend
Lord this is my desire to pour my love on you
Like oil upon your feet
Like wine for you to drink
Life water from my heart
I pour my love on you
With praises like the perfume
I lavish mine on you
Till every drop is gone
I pour my love on you
Is there a way to show the passion in my heart
Can I express how truly great I think you are,
My dearest friend
Lord this is my desire to pour my love on you
Phillips, Craig, & Dean
There is no guilt here
There is no shame
No pointing fingers
There is no blame
What happened yesterday has disappeared
The dirt has washed away
And now it's clear
There's only grace
There's only love
There's only mercy
And believe me it's enough
Your sins are gone
Without a trace
There's nothing left now
There's only grace
You're starting over now
Under the sun
You're stepping forward now
A new life has begun
Your new life has begun
And if you should fall again
Get back up, get back up
Reach out and take my hand
Get back up, get back up
Get back up again
Matthew West and Kenny Greenberg - History
I don’t deserve to be Your servant
And how much less to be Your child
Anger and wrath, sure condemnation
Should be my portion, my just reward
Never have seen it, never will know it
Your lovingkindness enfolds my life
All You have shown me is
Grace, love and mercy
Now and forever I am Your child
Freely You pour out
Your lovingkindness
Father of grace
You welcome me in
All of the sin I have committed
Was placed upon Your righteous Son
And now You see me
Through His perfection
As if I’d never done any wrong
Always forgiven, always accepted
No fear of judgment
Before Your throne

All of You is more than enough for all of me
For every thirst and every need
You satisfy me with Your love
And all I have in You is more than enough
You are my supply
My breath of life
And still more awesome than I know
You are my reward
worth living for
And still more awesome than I know
All of You is more than enough for all of me
For every thirst and every need
You satisfy me with Your love
And all I have in You is more than enough
You're my sacrifice
Of greatest price
And still more awesome than I know
You're my coming King
You are everything
And still more awesome than I know
More than all I want, More than all I need
You are more than enough for me
More than all I know, More than all I can see
You are more than enough for me
Chris Tomlin - Enough
This fits so well with what I've been feeling and learning recently. I can't rid myself of sin. There's no set of rules that I can establish in my life that will win over my struggles. Even though I know this, I continue to battle it. I get this sense of disappointing God because of my continual sin. I need to transfer the knowledge of my position before Him from my brain to my heart.
It's only by God's grace that I'm saved and have freedom from sin. And even though the "old" man is dead, he still rears his ugly head from time to time.
Lord, you have defeated sin, help me to have victory over this "old" man's ghostly presence. Lord, "paint my heart a solid hue, the shade of You. And break this dreadful in between inside of me."
Like the sky before the dawn
While the night is holding on
Sun and moon together in the gray
So my soul is shared by two
The worst of me, the best of You
Saint and sinner mingle in my veins
And I pray You'll end this twillight
Twillight, twillight
I'm torn inside my soul tonight
The dawning day, the dying night
Oh rid my soul of twillight
Oh rid my soul of twillight
Good I love but evil's done
Good intentions come undone
Good to know I know the One
Who saves me from myself and
Oh Lord, paint my heart a solid hue
The shade of You
Oh Lord, break this dreadful in between
inside of me
Oh let it be morning
I know the sun is coming up
Oh, the sun is coming up
Yes, the sun is coming up
In me, in me
Shaun Groves - Twilight
Lord, prepare me to be a sanctuary
Pure and holy, tried and true
With thanksgiving, I'll be a living
Sanctuary for You
It is you, Lord
Who came to save
The heart and soul
of every man.
It is you Lord
Who knows my weakness,
Who gives me strength,
With thine own hand.
Lead Me on Lord
From temptation,
Purify me
From within.
Fill my heart with
Your holy spirit,
Take away
All my sin.
Sanctuary - John W. Thompson, Randy Scruggs
The Lord is not our equal
He doesn’t need the help of man
Who could ever give Him counsel
Who could ever stop His sovereign plan
Though men may boast of wisdom
And be filled with pride within
Who is bold enough to answer
When his Maker comes to question him
Though rulers rise against Him
The King of Heaven laughs
He rebukes them in His anger
And terrifies them in His wrath
He punishes the wicked
Pours judgment out on sin
Yet this Champion of Justice
Is a Savior if You call on Him
And we call on the name
Of the Holy Sovereign Lord
The King of all the earth
And we hope in the power
Of His awesome mighty hand
We tremble at His word
Who is like our God
The heavens sound with thunder
As His majesty is shown
The four and twenty elders
Fall down and worship at His throne
His eyes are flames of fire
And His face is like the sun
He’s the Alpha and Omega
The One Who was and is to come
And we call on the name
Of the Holy Sovereign Lord
The King of all the earth
And we hope in the power
Of His awesome mighty hand
We tremble at His word
Who is like our God

Lord i want to yearn for You
i want to burn with passion
over You and only You
Lord i want to yearn
Your joy is mine
yet why am i fine
with all my singing and bringing grain
in light of Him
oh You give life and breath
through Him You give all things
in Him we live and move
that's why i sing

i want to burn with passion

Is there anyone that fails
Is there anyone that falls
Am I the only one in church today feelin' so small
Cause when I take a look around
Everybody seems so strong
I know they'll soon discover
That I don't belong
So I tuck it all away, like everything's okay
If I make them all believe it, maybe I'll believe it too
So with a painted grin, I play the part again
So everyone will see me the way that I see them
Are we happy plastic people
Under shiny plastic steeples
With walls around our weakness
And smiles to hide our pain
But if the invitation's open
To every heart that has been broken
Maybe then we close the curtain
On our stained glass masquerade
Is there anyone who's been there
Are there any hands to raise
Am I the only one who's traded
In the altar for a stage
The performance is convincing
And we know every line by heart
Only when no one is watching
Can we really fall apart
Are we happy plastic people
Under shiny plastic steeples
With walls around our weakness
And smiles to hide our pain
But if the invitation's open
To every heart that has been broken
Maybe then we close the curtain
On our stained glass masquerade
But would it set me free
If I dared to let you see
The truth behind the person
That you imagine me to be
Would your arms be open
Or would you walk away
Would the love of Jesus
Be enough to make you stay
Casting Crowns - LifeSong
Every morning that breaks
There are mercies anew
Every breath that I take
Is your faithfulness proved
And at the end of each day
When my labors are through
I will sing of Your mercies anew
When I’ve fallen and strayed
There were mercies anew
For you sought me in love
And my heart you pursued
In the face of my sin
Lord, You never withdrew
So I sing of Your mercies anew
And Your mercies, they will never end
For ten thousand years they’ll remain
And when this world’s beauty has passed away
Your mercies will be unchanged
And when the storms swirl and rage
There are mercies anew
In affliction and pain
You will carry me through
And at the end of my days
When Your throne fills my view
I will sing of Your mercies anew
I will sing of Your mercies anew
“Mercies Anew” by Mark Altrogge and Bob Kauflin.
I'm halfway to nothing
Walking this road, making my way
So tired of the running,
Why is every day as long as today?
Should I long for all I long for out loud?
Today I'm praying today's the day
You come split open the clouds
Chorus:
I'm ready to walk, I'm ready to run
I'm ready to find my way to the Son
To walk beside that glassy sea
Hands lifted up for eternity
I'm ready.
It's not that I'm unhappy
But nothing could ever compare to you
Forever stands waiting
A life stands beyond the one we dance through
Call me crazy, say my thoughts are strange
But I am crying, I am dying for something to change
Chorus
Bridge:
All eternity spent in worship alone
I can only imagine my eternal home
Chris Sligh - Ready Half Past Forever
I can't live a day, without You in my life.
Just to breathe You in, is my heart's desire.
Longing to touch the hem, I reach out to You.
To sing of who You are, is all I long to do.
You are beautiful,
So I lift my hands and worship You, oh my God.
You're my saving grace, so I'm on my face to worship You, oh my God.
Nothing can compare, to Your endless love.
With all that I do, You still call me beloved.
You are my comfort, yeah. And my self-worth.
Your full beauty is a sign that's sent to earth.
Among Thorns - Draw Near
Lord it was You
You created the heavens
Lord it was Your hands
That put the stars in their place
Lord it was Your voice
That commands the morning
'Cause even oceans and their waves bow at Your feet
Oh God
Lord who am I
Compared to Your glory
Lord who am I
Compared to Your majesty
Cause I'm Your beloved
Your creation
And You love me as I am
You call me chosen
For Your kingdom
Unashamed to call me Your own
Cause I'm Your beloved
Lord it was You
You created the heavens
Lord it was Your hands
That put the stars in their place
Lord it was Your voice
That commands the morning
'Cause even oceans and their waves bow at Your feet
Oh God

When I think about the Lord
When I think about the Lord,
How He saved me, how He raised me,
How He filled me, with the Holy Ghost.
How He healed me, to the uttermost.
When I think about the Lord,
How He picked me up and turned me around,
How He placed my feet on solid ground.
Chrous
It makes me wanna shout,
Hallelujah, thank you JESUS,
LORD, you're worthy, of all the glory,
And all the honor, and all the praise...
Draw me close to You
Draw me close to You
Never let me go
I lay it all down again
To hear You say that I'm Your friend
You are my desire
No one else will do
'Cause nothing else could take Your place
To feel the warmth of Your embrace
Help me find the way
Bring me back to You
You're all I want
You're all I've ever needed
You're all I want
Help me know You are near
These lyrics have really been the cry of my heart the last several weeks. Because it's so easy to please ourselves and put ourselves before God and His Word.
So here I go again, again
I let myself get spread so thin
But I can see right through my skin
And I don't like what I'm finding in my heart
So many different voices call
And I try hard to please them all
I run in circles 'til I fall
So I'm falling on my knees and praying
Please, Please, Please only You, only You
Please, Please, Please take my heart, and make it true
Let everything I say and everything I do
Please, please only you
Please only you
For every moment of my time
For every thought that fills my mind
For every melody and rhyme
This is the prayer that I'll be praying
Please, Please, Please only You, only You
Please, Please, Please take my heart, and make it true
Let everything I say and everything I do
This is what it means to be
The reason why I live and breathe
To know that I am totally existing for Your pleasure
I'm still learning but I know
As this becomes my only goal
The more I find my heart and soul is filled up with joy when I
I please only you
I please only you
Please only you
Steven Curtis Chapman - "all things new"
Before the throne of God above I have a strong, a perfect plea
A great High Priest whose name is Love who ever lives and pleads for me
When Satan tempts me to despair and tells me of the guilt within
Upward I look and see Him there, who made an end to all my sin
Because the sinless Savior died my sinful soul is counted free
For God the Just is satisfied to look on Him and pardon me
To look on Him and pardon me
Behold Him there, the risen Lamb my perfect spotless righteousness
The great unchangeable I Am, the King of glory and of grace
My name is graven on His hands, My name is written on His heart
I know that while in Heaven, He stands no tongue can bid me thence depart
One with Himself I cannot die, my soul is purchased with His blood
My life is hid with Christ on high with Christ my Savior and my God
With Christ my Savior and my God
Beautiful Lord, Wonderful Saviour
I know for sure, all of my days are held in your hands, crafted
into your perfect plan
You gently call me into your presence guiding me by Your Holy Spirit
Teach me dear Lord to live all of my life through Your eyes
I'm captured by Your holy calling
Set me apart, I know you're drawing me to yourself
Lead me Lord I pray
Chorus:
Take me, Mold me, use me, fill me
I give my life to the Potter's hand
Call me, guide me, lead me, walk beside me
I give my life to the Potter's hand
You gentlly call me into your presence guiding me by your Holy Spirit
Teach me dear Lord to live all of my life through your eyes
I'm captured by your Holy calling
set me apart, I know your drawing me to yourself
lead me Lord I pray
We stutter and we stammer til you say us
A symphony of chaos til you play us
Phrases on the pages of unknown, til you read us into poetry and prose.
We are kept and we are captive til you free us
Vaguely unimaged til you dream us
Aimlessly unguided til you lead us home.
And by your voice we speak
By Your strength no longer weak, we are no longer weak
By your wounds we are healed.
By your wounds we are healed.
Passed over and passed by until you claim us
Orphaned and abandoned til you name us
Hiddened and diclosed til you expose our hearts.
And by your death we live
It is by your gift that we might give, that we might give.
What kind of love would take your shame and spill his blood for you?
And save us by His wounds...
Nicole Nordeman - "Woved and Spun"
This is one of my most favorite songs ever. I went to Steve Pettit's evangelistic service at Hampton Park last night, which was good for a hellfire and brimstone evangelistic service. I was really excited that they sang a rendition of this song! The words are so powerful. I especially love the last stanza.
In Christ alone my hope is found
He is my light, my strength, my song
This Cornerstone, this solid ground
Firm through the fiercest drought and storm
What heights of love, what depths of peace
When fears are stilled, when strivings cease
My Comforter, my All in All
Here in the love of Christ I stand
In Christ alone, who took on flesh
Fullness of God in helpless babe
This gift of love and righteousness
Scorned by the ones He came to save
'till on that cross as Jesus died
The wrath of God was satisfied
For every sin on Him was laid
Here in the death of Christ I live
There in the ground His body lay
Light of the world by darkness slain
Then bursting forth in glorious Day
Up from the grave He rose again
And as He stands in victory
Sin's curse has lost its grip on me
For I am His and He is mine
Bought with the precious blood of Christ
No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His hand
'Till He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I'll stand
I lift up my voice to The King, The King of glory
I hold out my hands to The One who is worthy
I long for Your presence
I long, Lord, I need Your touch
Come, oh Lord, and fill up my life
with the light of Your presence
this is my heart's desire
oh Father, come and let Your spirit abide
I long for Your presence
this is my heart's desire
I long to be washed in the well of Your mercy
I long to be warmed by the fire of Your glory
I long for Your presence
I long for Your healing touch
Come oh Lord and fill up my life
with the light of Your presence
this is my heart's desire
oh Father, come and let Your spirit abide
I long for Your presence
this is my heart's desire
Newsboys - "Devotion"
Your holy voice, whispers in my ear
You break me, and then you draw me near
Who am I to stand, who am I to speak
Who am I to raise my eyes to meet you
Who am I to stand, who am I to speak
Who am I to lift my hands to praise you
I'm falling at your feet, ruined by your majesty
My life, my everything
Are crumbled on the ground before you
Your mercy's rich, it covers all my sin
You bought me, now I'm surrendering
I'm falling at your feet, ruined by your majesty
My life, my everything
Are crumbled on the ground before you
Who am I to stand, who am I to speak
Who am I to raise my eyes to meet you
Who am I to stand, who am I to speak
Who am I to lift my hands to praise you
You're all I want now, You're all I have
You're all I am now, You're everything
I'm falling at your feet, ruined by your majesty
My life, my everything
Are crumbled on the ground before you

My church just started an intense study of Hebrews. We're talking about Hebrews in both morning and evening services. We discuss it in our bi-weekly sheparding groups. And it's been encouraged that we read it once through weekly and memorize key passages. This not well known hymn, written by Charles Wesley, came to mind as I was reading Hebrews 4. What an assurance!
LORD, I believe a rest remains To all thy people known,
A rest where pure enjoyment reigns, And thou art loved alone:
A rest, where all our souls desire Is fixed on things above;
Where fear, and sin, and grief expire, Cast out by perfect love.
O that I now the rest might know, Believe, and enter in!
Now, Saviour, now the power bestow, And let me cease from sin.
Remove this hardness from my heart, This unbelief remove:
To me the rest of faith impart, The Sabbath of thy love.
I would be thine, thou know'st I would, And have thee all my own;
Thee, O my all-sufficient good! I want, and thee alone.
Thy name to me, thy nature grant! This, only this be given:
Nothing beside my God I want, Nothing in earth or heaven.
Come, O my Saviour, come away! Into my soul descend;
No longer from thy creature stay, My author and my end!
Come, Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, And seal me thine abode!
Let all I am in thee be lost, Let all be lost in God.
Show us Your ways, write them in our hearts, bind them in our steps.
Grant us the strength, to hold them ever near. so we will not forget.
Chorus:
We run to You, You make us strong. You are our God, we are Your own.
Bought with Your blood, held by Your love, Oh Holy lamb, to You we run.
We will remember, Angels are around when trouble is drawing near.
And we will stay strong, knowing they are sent to keep our paths clear.
With all our might, we will follow You. You will walk with us and we will carry on,
though all the world be shaken, we know that You will overcome....
Among Thorns
From CD - Draw Near
We run to you because you have bought us. Thank you, Jesus.
A debtor to mercy alone
Of covenant mercy I sing
I come with your righteousness on
My humble off’ring to bring
The judgments of Your holy law
With me can have nothing to do
My Savior’s obedience and blood
Hide all my transgressions from view
The work which Your goodness began
The arm of Your strength will complete
Your promise is yes and amen
And never was forfeited yet
The future or things that are now
No power below or above
Can make You Your purpose forego
Or sever my soul from Your love
My name from the palms of Your hands
Eternity will not erase
Impressed on Your heart it remains
In marks of indelible grace
Yes, I to the end will endure
Until I bow down at your throne
Forever and always secure
Forever and always secure
Forever and always secure
A debtor to mercy alone
Original lyrics by Augustus M. Toplady, 1771.
Music and alternate lyrics by Bob Kauflin.
Oh what I would do to have
The kind of faith it takes
To climb out of this boat I'm in
Onto the crashing waves
To step out of my comfort zone
Into the realm of the unknown where Jesus is
And He's holding out His hand
But the waves are calling out my name
And they laugh at me
Reminding me of all the times
I've tried before and failed
The waves they keep on telling me
Time and time again. "Boy, you'll never win!"
"You'll never win!"
But the voice of truth tells me a different story
The voice of truth says, "Do not be afraid!"
The voice of truth says, "This is for My glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth

Lyrics by Mark Hall and Steven Curtis Chapman
From the highest of heights to the depths of the sea
Creation's revealing Your majesty
From the colors of fall to the fragrance of spring
Every creature unique in the song that it sings
All exclaiming
Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name.
You are amazing God
All powerful, untameable,
Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim
You are amazing God
Who has told every lightning bolt where it should go
Or seen heavenly storehouses laden with snow
Who imagined the sun and gives source to its light
Yet conceals it to bring us the coolness of night
None can fathom
Indescribable, uncontainable,
You placed the stars in the sky and You know them by name
You are amazing God
All powerful, untameable,
Awestruck we fall to our knees as we humbly proclaim
You are amazing God
You are amazing God
These word were written by Laura Story and sung by Chris Tomlin in his new album called "Arriving."
This song has been an huge reminder of how worthless we are and how worthy He is. You are amazing God!
