Gospel vs. Religion

The distinction between Gospel and Religion is actually quite simple...

RELIGION - Obey/do therefore I'm accepted.

GOSPEL - I'm accepted therefore I obey.

Seriously! Every religion in the world has it's rules/laws that must be obeyed in order to, hopefully, be accepted by god.
The Gospel is so powerful in that we are accepted. Period. We don't have to DO anything. We are accepted therefore we obey out of a desire to worship.

A huge example of this is the 10 Commandments. God doesn't give this list of commandments to the people for them to simply obey them to earn His pleasure. Read Exodus 20 - God says "I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery." and then goes on to give the 10 Commandments. He's saying: "because I accepted you and freed you from the Egyptians, here's how you can obey me and show me your love."

Kathleen Joy Largent was born to Ivan and Tania Largent (my sister and bro in-law) on April 21st about 4 pm. She was 9lbs and 12 oz and 21.5 inches long. I might be biased, but I think she's adorable!

3 is the number of God.

Father, Son, Holy Ghost,

He created man and woman

God only is holy

God only is holy; He alone knows how to lead His children in the paths of holiness. He knows every aspect of your soul, every thought of your heart, every secret of your character, its difficulties and hindrances; He knows how to mould you to His will, and lead you onwards to perfect sanctification; He knows exactly how each event, each trial, each temptation, will tell upon you, and He disposes all things accordingly. The consequences of this belief, if fully grasped, will influence your whole life. You will seek to give yourself up to God more and more unreservedly, asking nothing, refusing nothing, wishing nothing, but what He wills; not seeking to bring things about for yourself, taking all He sends joyfully, and believing the ‘one step’ set before you to be enough for you. You will be satisfied that even though there are clouds around, and your way seems dark, He is directing all, and that what seems a hindrance will prove a blessing, since He wills it.
