The Creator gave us a neat little show this evening as we headed into church. The sun was below the horizon, but the sky--above the snowy field and scraggy tree branches--was orange in the twilight.
To the left was a cloud of thousands of sparrow-type birds wheeling in the air. Suddenly, they descended on a tree a few hundred yards away. There were so many birds the tree appeared to immediately sprout leaves. We could hear their chatter from our spot in the parking lot.
We turned to go into the church (building) and a strange whir began. It was the black cloud of these tiny birds flying overhead.
